Help

This section is a work in progress. Right now it is mostly a rambling utterance. I will improve it over time, but initially I felt it was more important to just get the info out. If you have any questions or suggestions for topics that should be covered, please email me.

Tips

The following tips are geared for the stand-alone version, but some may also be used with the on-line version.

  • Not only are GPX Spinner's pages great for a PDA, they're also printer-friendly! When you want to print the page for a particularly nasty puzzle cache, open the HTML cache pages on your computer by opening the cache folder, and double-click on the index.htm file. Navigate to the cache in question, and type ctrl-P. This also works with the on-line version of GPX Spinner.

  • In EasyGPS and ExpertGPS, when you right-click on a waypoint, there is an option to View Waypoint Online which opens the associated cache page on Geocaching.com. To open the local page that was generated by GPX Spinner instead, edit your gpx_ template file(s). Find the following line:

    <url>http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=%ID%</url>

    Change it to:

    <url>cache/%ID%.htm</url>

Save the file, re-run GPX Spinner, and open the new GPX file.

  • Discover another neat trick? Tell me about it and I might include it here.
